In-Depth Pool Service needed a mobile solution to streamline field reporting and client communication. This AppSheet-based project involved designing and building a pair of customized applications—a technician-facing app for service input and a master app for management oversight and client communication. Built with offline functionality and PDF automation, the apps support daily pool service operations with clarity and ease.

The primary goal was to simplify the way technicians record and submit service data while allowing the office to generate professional reports and maintain oversight. The system needed to be intuitive for field use, robust enough to handle multiple technicians and clients, and flexible to grow with changing business needs. Offline reliability, clear service organization, and streamlined PDF delivery were key priorities.
The project centered on two linked apps: a technician app for completing daily client service forms, and a master app with administrative controls, editing access, and PDF generation capabilities. Each morning, the manager selects a service list and generates individualized forms. Technicians then complete these forms on-site—even without a data connection. Once forms are marked complete, the master app reviews submissions and generates branded PDF reports for each client using a custom HTML template. These reports include timestamped data and a pool photo and can be quickly sent via email or text. A companion charting app visualizes chemical levels over time, supporting long-term maintenance and analysis.
Key challenges included ensuring seamless offline functionality, creating an interface that technicians could use quickly in the field, and automating the generation of uniquely named client PDFs. We also needed a structure that allowed for daily client sorting by service date and priority order, while keeping everything intuitive and error-resistant.
The app system has become a vital part of the company’s daily routine. It’s now used across all field service operations to track client work, submit forms, and send reports. Technicians rely on its clarity and ease of use, while the office benefits from organized records and efficient client communication. As the business evolves, the app continues to grow through ongoing customization, supporting new features and workflows as needed.
